About Me

Herophilos once said that "when health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot manifest, strength cannot fight, wealth becomes useless, and intelligence cannot be applied."

Specializing in Corrective Exercise (CEx) to teach and assist you in understanding your own body and its unseen compensations due to injuries (current or past). Thus, allowing you to increase your comfortable and unrestricted Range-of-Motion.  Improving and relieving stress (discomfort, pain or stiffness) in the ankles, knees, hips, back, shoulders & neck through a combination of myofacial release techniques and identifying and strengthening weak areas contributing to less activity and an overall decline in the quality of health and body composition.

Personal training of either 1-on-1 or small group sessions (Partner & Bootcamp) to either acquire (re-acquire) the strength & condition(ing) that one had years ago or currently to gain an altogether higher & as of yet unknown level of strength, conditioning, agility, and physical performance.

Maintaining an emphasis on teaching and instructing, I will teach you how to have an efficient and productive work-out while ensuring that you do not injure yourself.

To guide, monitor & ensure the desired small or large amounts of healthy weight loss or muscle gain, through specifically customized meal/menu plans and understanding what is the correct method(s) to use for weight training and cardio programs. Likewise, teaching you about simple, proper & natural supplementation that are goal specific to give your body an edge to achieve your goals faster than what you could do with out them. Supplements are the closest that you can come to that magic pill that instantly brings results.

My background as a competitive body builder benefits you where-in I can help you to learn and understand how to tone or sculpt your entire body. To strengthen your entire body, evenly and not to continue building one's strong areas stronger and continue to neglect critical areas. "The chain is only as strong as its weakest link".

My goals are to help you achieve your goals, so you'll be able to enjoy a better quality of life without a long expensive and painful decline. Training pays for itself in the long-term of fitness for life.

My goals:To improve lives and make a difference for many.

BE HEALTHY, BE HAPPY!

"The human spirit is truly unconquerable. The will to win—the will to succeed, to shape one's life, to take control—can be harnessed only when you decide what you want and believe that no challenge, no problem, no obstacle can keep you from it. Obstacles are merely a call to strengthen your resolve to achieve your worthwhile goals."  ... Anthony Robins

MY PERSONAL BIO

Joined the United States Marine Corps in 1988 and retired from Active Duty in 2008.  I changed my body from being slightly overweight (think pudgy) to a lean efficient running-push up-pull up-sit up machine.  Later I became a weight lifter and changed my body again and I can show you how to do this also.

My post Marine Corps career was going to be nursing, I changed my mind in my last few years on active duty.  After retirement I realized that an office type job wasn't my desired path either.  I wanted to work closely with others through fitness and nutrition to help them improve their lives. This is when I became a body builder and competed as a natural body builder (no steroids).

In the Spring 2009, I'd earned my first certification, NASM, CPT, Certified Personal Trainer and started working at 24 Hour Fitness. Also that year I earned a NESTA CPT Certification and in 2010,NASM C.E.S., Corrective Exercise Specialist Certification.  I trained there for nearly five years continually honing my skills and seeking more knowledge.

In the Spring 2013, I was ready to open New Found Strength Fitness & Nutrition LLC.  For ongoing education, I continue my CEU's and diligently read, watched and studied certain gurus that focus on Corrective Exercise, Physical Therapy and targeted-nutrition: Charles Poliquin, Eric Cressey, Gray Cook, Todd Durkin, Kelly Starret, Precision-Nutrition and John Keifer, as well as intensive seminars.

In 2015 I learned PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation), a style of stretching to help my clients with the dysfunction in their bodies that training alone could not address, even Corrective Exercise.  In 2017 I learned Resistance Stretching at the Genius of Flexibility school in Santa Barbara.  Resistance Stretching was the missing link to helping my clients and myself with the tissue dysfunction that kept us from feeling, moving and being optimal.

As a trainer, I focus on Corrective Exercise, I enjoy helping those with injuries, (big and small) especially chronic issues that they thought they would have to live with.  I focus on teaching a person proprioception; to become acutely aware of what is happening, right and wrong, with in them self.  My belief is that a trainer should be a teacher and instructor; a client should know how to move, be active, work out and understand their nutritional life-style, on their own, once done with a trainer.

My life's theme is to help others. I will improve your quality of life, I want you to be healthy.
